Family Vision Care is pleased to bring you all the latest and greatest in contact lenses and prescription, but it is important to remember that there is an importance to the fit. One size does not fit all. A proper fitting of your contact lenses ensures accuracy of vision correction, as well as making sure they are preventing any physical eye damage.

Contact lenses fit over the cornea of the eye, and it is important to protect the health of the cornea by having a proper fit. An inadequate contact lens fit could damage the tissues of the cornea and lead to irritation, infection or an ulcer in parts of the eye.
At Family Vision Care we offer a full service contact lens examination and fitting that includes:

•\tAnalysis of the vision problem and over all health. – Dr. Smith and Dr. See will carefully test and asses your eyesight, taking into consideration both present condition and family history. If any health problems are discovered, they will be treated and recovery will be needed before proceeding in the contact lens fitting process.

•\tSelection of the proper lens. – By measuring your eyes, Dr. Smith and Dr. See will be able to best asses the proper amount of curve, thickness and diameter required in your lenses. Patients will be given the opportunity to test contact lenses for comfort and for vision for up to one week.

•\tInstructions on lens handling and care. – Thanks to the continuing training that our friendly staff receives, your Optometric Technician will be able to instruct you on proper lens insertion, removal and handling. It is important to know the right way to maintain your lenses and it is crucial they be cleaned and handled properly at all times. This time with you is provided not only to give instructions, but to allow you to ask questions and become comfortable with your new vision correction.
