Our Practice
F. Mason Smith, O.D.![]() For the last 28 years Dr. Smith has been in private practice. As the primary doctor of Family Vision Care, he believes that all our patients should be knowledgeable and educated in the care they receive and that such care should be of excellent standard and quality. Dr. Smith is licensed in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio. Dr. Smith holds a B.S. in Biology from the Citadel and a M.B.A also from the Citadel. He was Valedictorian in 1976 when receiving his Doctor of Optometry from the South College of Optometry and held the position of Chairman of the Board for Vision Service Plan (VSP) in 1998-2000. With roles such as Chairman of the Board for the South College of Optometry Board of Trustees, membership on the board for the Association of the Blind and membership to the American Optometric Association, Dr. Smith is a key participant in the progress and advancement of vision care and optometry. However; at every opportunity Dr. Smith enjoys the chance to give back to the local community as well. When not in the office at Family Vision Care, Dr. Smith is a member of Seacoast Christian Community Church, the Mount Pleasant Planning Commission, the Association of Citadel Men and the East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club. Betsy W. Fraser, O.D.![]() Family Vision Care would like to welcome Dr. Betsy Fraser to the practice. Originally from Hilton Head Island, Dr. Fraser obtained her undergraduate degree from Clemson University and recently completed her four year optometric education at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. During the last year of her program, she rotated through eye clinics in various locations including Daytona Beach, Chicago, Atlanta, and Winston Salem, each with emphasis on a different specialty of optometry. Dr. Fraser is dedicated to providing her patients with the highest quality eye care. Dr. Fraser will be in the office on Mondays and Fridays. Diane G. See, O.D.![]() Dr. See is a woman of many passions and talents. Practicing as an optometrist for over 20 years, Dr See enjoys all facets of the practice. From fitting specialty contact lenses to treating ocular diseases, she is proud to give excellent care and quality assistance in educating her patients on the various treatments they receive. Dr. See joins us from Moscow, Idaho where she previously had her own private practice. She currently has a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA, a B.S. in Physiological Optics from UC Berkeley, and a Doctorate of Optometry also from UC Berkeley. Licensed in South Carolina, Washington and California, when not in the office, Dr. See enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family. Connie- Office Administrator/Insurance CoordinatorConnie holds of the position of both Office Administrator and Insurance Coordinator. Her love of people is truly an asset when it comes to her responsibilities of scheduling, checking in and arranging follow up scheduling for our patients. As the Insurance Coordinator for Family Vision Care, Connie works closely with all of our participating insurance companies to insure the correct and complete filing of all patient claims. Be sure to allow time as you schedule your next appointment, to speak with her should you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage and how we may better assist you in regards to your claim. Connie is also versed in the subject of Lasik surgery and would be happy to discuss the features, benefits and how to schedule a Lasik Consultation. Keith – Licensed OpticianKeith has worked as a licensed optician in the optical industry for over ten years. His skills and training bring to Family Vision Care all the talent necessary to provide our patient with a one stop optical shop. From glasses adjustment to picking out a new pair of sunglasses, patients receive quality care and respect from Keith. His responsibilities include meeting with patients and helping them choose their new eye wear, maintaining and upgrading our current frame inventory and glasses maintenance and repair. With a value of people and a keen eye for fashion, Keith brings excellent care and quality to the optical floor. Patrice – Optometry Technician/Data AnalystPatrice joins Family Vision Care as a lover of people with a passion for helping all those she comes in contact with. As an Optometry Technician, Patrice plays a key role in our patients pre-screening. Fully trained in the areas of acuities, epic, and in room testing, she assists patients with the preliminary information necessary to provide quality care and information for our doctors. Patrice also holds the responsibility of data collection from our office activities and the eye care community. Thanks to her analysis and keen record keeping, Family Vision Care is able to provide you, our patient, with the most up to date information and the latest technology in both contact lenses and optical inventory. Parker – Optometry TechnicianAs part of the Family Vision Care team, generally Parker works with patients on the pre-screening portion of their exams and office visits. He has also been cross trained in every area of the office, so you shouldn't be surprised to see him helping another co-worker when they need it. Chelsey- Optometry TechicianChelsey is a part-time employee at Family Vision Care and a full-time student at the College of Charleston. She is responsible for pre-screening patients, and administering visual fields testing. Paige-Optometry Technician/Optical AssistantPaige is the newest member of our Family Vision Care team. During the pre-screening portion of the exam, Paige's energetic and upbeat personality puts our patients at ease. In the optical lab, Paige helps our patients repair and maintain their current eyewear, and while in the optical showroom she helps patients choose the most fashion forward eyewear for themselves with her modern sense of style. Blaire- Optometry Technician/GDX SpecialistBlaire has been a part of the Family Vision Care team for many years. As an optometric technician, she is trained with all of the equipment including the Epic, visual fields, Optomap, and GDX. Blaire also trains patients on how to insert and remove their contact lenses. You will know her when you come in because the has the biggest smile in the room. Notice of Privacy Practices |
