Routine Vision

Family Vision Care is pleased to provide comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages. A routine visit includes use of the latest technology and in room consultation for all your eye care needs. Our comprehensive testing includes tests in eye mobility, overall vision and glaucoma and cataract testing. Also available in our office is the necessary equipment for color testing, depth perception and visual fields testing as needed. Both Dr. Smith, Dr. Fraser and Dr. See provide you, the patient, with the opportunity to share your concerns and ask any questions. Their goal is not only to provide quality eye care, but also to educate you on all your vision needs.

Lasik Consultations

Family Vision Care is headed by Dr. F. Mason Smith, a member of the clinical staff of Magill Laser Center. His extensive training and years of experience in pre-operative evaluation, allow Family Vision Care to offer consultation services to anyone interested in Lasik procedure and determining if they are a candidate. Services are both pre-operative and follow-up care and are available for all refractive surgery procedures. For further information please contact Connie, our Lasik Coordinator.

 

Facilities and Equipment

The mission statement of Family Vision Care is to provide technologically advanced eye care by a highly trained and compassionate staff. Using the only the most advanced technology, you can count on FVC to be high tech and high quality in both service and technology. Comfort and ease come early in your visit as we use the Epic 2100 as part of our pre-screening process. The Epic 2100 is a high tech, computerized refraction instrument meant not only to check the prescription of your current glasses but to obtain your subjective prescription for a more precise diagnosis of your current eye condition.

 

Our monthly glaucoma screening is done with a combination of OCT technology and our fully automated Visual Fields testing machine. OCT is the latest technology in the field of glaucoma screening. A super sensitive and super specific machine, the OCT provides concise measurements to help our doctors determine if any signs of glaucoma may be present in a patient.

 

One of the most popular features of Family Vision Care is their use of advance retinal exam technology. A direct partner of Optos Technology, Family Vision Care is proud to provide the Optomap Retinal Examination System. The Optomap Retinal Examinaton System is a technological system developed as a noninvasive system to scan and photograph the retina. This system can be used to replace or compliment dilation, depending on the situation, and avoid the usual side effects of dilation drops while providing a more detailed picture of the retinal area.
